| Description: |
The Laurier Street Redevelopment project is a major infrastructure and streetscape initiative for the City of Clarence-Rockland that will transform approximately 3.7 kilometres of Laurier Street between Laporte Road and Highway 17. The project supports the City's downtown revitalization objectives by improving mobility, accessibility, safety, and the overall public realm while creating a more attractive and connected corridor for residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The assignment includes the preparation of a comprehensive engineering design for the reconstruction of the roadway and the modernization of municipal infrastructure. The successful consultant will be responsible for designing roadway improvements, sidewalks, cycling facilities, pedestrian crossings, traffic control measures, streetscape elements, landscaping, street lighting, accessibility features, and property tie-ins. The design will also address the rehabilitation, replacement, and upgrading of underground infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drainage, service connections, hydrants, valves, and related municipal systems. In addition to engineering design, the consultant will provide project management, stakeholder and utility coordination, public consultation support, regulatory approval coordination, cost estimating, and preparation of all drawings, specifications, reports, and tender-ready documentation required for construction procurement. The design approach must integrate transportation, municipal servicing, urban design, and placemaking principles to create a safe, functional, and visually cohesive corridor that reflects the City's long-term growth and community development goals. The overall outcome of the project is a complete, coordinated, and construction-ready redevelopment plan that upgrades aging infrastructure, improves active transportation opportunities, enhances the downtown streetscape, and supports the future needs of Clarence-Rockland. |
